One of the best beaches in Galicia: Melide beach. Melide beach is located at the end of Cabo Home, a place with a natural landscape that is well worth seeing.
Cabo Home is located in Cangas do Morrazo, Pontevedra, in Rías Baixas. To get to this beach we will have to head west along the Ría de Vigo, after a spectacular natural route of 30 minutes on foot or 7 by car, in each one there are small lighthouses with beautiful views of the famous Cíes Islands. This Path of Cabo Home, starts from Donón, where there are several restaurants and eating establishments.
It’s a sandy area surrounded by pine trees, 250 meters long and 40 meters wide. Its waves are moderate since it is protected by Punta Robaleira and Punta Fuxiño or Subrido. Melide is the closest point from the peninsula to the Cíes Islands, just over 3 km. The sunsets here are breathtaking.
Its beauty, fine sand and crystal clear waters is spectacular, in addition to having that wild appearance that few sandbanks preserve. Occupancy level is medium in summer, which makes it a good option if you don’t like crowded beaches.
From this beach you can escape to see the Red Lighthouse of Punta Robaleira and the Lighthouse of Cabo Home, get to know the coast of La Vela and the Monte de O Facho in depth.
